This movement mainly trains lats, and also recruits Biceps, Rear delts, Traps.
The row loads the lats in horizontal pulling, and with them the rhomboids, mid traps and rear delt. The spinal erectors work isometrically to hold the torso — they are usually what gives out first.
Six to twelve reps. The torso stays between thirty and forty-five degrees and does not move: if it rises as the set goes on, the load is heavier than the movement you meant to do.
Standing up into each pull to help with the lower back. The movement becomes a partial deadlift, and the lats receive a fraction of what the bar advertises.
