Chest Dips

Chest Dips — demonstration
Chest

PrimarySecondaryNot worked

This movement mainly trains chest, and also recruits Front delts, Triceps.

What the movement loads

With the torso leaned forward, dips become a bodyweight decline press: the sternal head of the chest leads and the triceps follows. The more upright the torso, the more the triceps takes over.

How to load it

Six to twelve bodyweight reps, then weighted once that gets easy. Torso lean is the dial: it decides what the movement trains.

The recurring mistake

Dropping until the shoulders sit below the elbows. The extra range no longer loads the chest — it puts the shoulder capsule at end range under your whole bodyweight.
