This movement mainly trains lats, and also recruits Biceps, Rear delts, Traps.
Horizontal pulling, but each arm carries its own load. The range beats a barbell's, which runs into the torso: the dumbbell keeps going and the lats contract shorter.
Eight to fifteen reps per arm. The elbow tracks along the body rather than flaring — an elbow that goes wide turns this into rear-delt work.
Rotating the torso to follow the lift. The extra range comes from trunk rotation, not from the back, and the spine takes that twist under load.
